MAHORO ("MAHORO," "we," "us," or "our") operates the MAHORO mobile application (the "App"), a photography and community platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect the following when you use the App:
- Account information — email address, username, display name, and (optionally) profile photo, bio, photography experience, interests, and location you choose to add.
- Content you create — photos and posts you upload (including embedded photo metadata such as camera and lens information), captions, comments, clubs, quests, stacks, and votes.
- Subscription information — your premium subscription status and related identifiers. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
- Usage and device data — basic app activity and technical information (such as device type and app version) needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use your information
- To provide and maintain the App — your profile, feeds, clubs, quests, and stacks.
- To generate optional AI feedback and scoring on photos, and to screen submitted text and images for safety and policy compliance.
- To manage premium subscriptions and entitlements.
- To communicate with you about your account or important service changes.
- To protect the security and integrity of the App and our users.
Service providers
We share information with trusted providers only as needed to run the App:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and photo storage.
- Cloudflare — media storage and delivery, and backend processing.
- Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat — processing and managing subscriptions.
- Google Cloud (Vertex AI) and Anthropic — AI photo feedback, recommendations, and content moderation.
- Google Places — location search for optional location fields.
- Sign-in providers (Apple, Google, Facebook) — if you choose to sign in with them.
- Email delivery provider — to send service-related email.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Posts on free accounts may be removed after one year; premium accounts retain their posts and records for as long as the subscription remains active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App, which removes your profile and associated content, subject to limited backups and legal requirements.
Your choices and rights
- Access, update, or correct your profile information in the App.
- Delete your account and associated content from the App settings.
- Control optional fields such as location and interests.
- Depending on your region, you may have additional rights to access, port, or erase your data — contact us to make a request.
Children
MAHORO is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and limit access to it.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. We take steps to ensure your information remains protected wherever it is processed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
